Supporting Online Students with Disabilities: Strategies & Solutions for Providing Accommodations using StudentLingo

Presented by Kristen Seldon, Director of Partner Relations at Innovative Educators and Erica Kennon, Partner Relations at Innovative Educators

Erica Kennon

The challenges provoked by the COVID-19 pandemic has affected students with disabilities needing accommodations in online coursework. There's no predicting what the long-term outcomes will be for continued distance learning, but most educators believe online courses are here to stay as an option for college attendance. It's imperative that all facets of developing, implementing and delivering accommodations for students with disabilities taking online courses must be embraced at institutions of higher education to ensure equity and success. Many institutions are using StudentLingo as an accessible resource to support students specifically around the soft skills needed for college readiness and beyond.
