Virtual Meetings: The Final Frontier
Presented by Lucy Greco, Web Accessibility Evangelist at UC Berkeley
Even once the pandemic is over, we all will be meeting online. Now we can share our slides in a more accessible way. Come learn about Scribe for Meetings and learn how to make sure people with disabilities who cannot read your slides can now access the content you are sharing.
This will be a demonstration of a new tool to help share slides with blind, low vision, and reading-disabled meeting participants. Scribe for Meetings is a simple to use tool that takes your slides and creates a web page for meeting participants to be able to use their own access technology to read them. The tool will help by converting the slides to an accessible HTML page and adding automated, computer generated alt text when you forget it. Scribe for meetings works quickly and simply to give everyone in your meeting a chance to read the details you include on your slides. Scribe for Meetings currently works in Zoom and Microsoft Teams. Come try out this tool and learn about what is coming next for meeting accessibility.
